Description

Off the coast of North America in Maine, cryptozoologists and marine biologists set up a camera system in hopes of catching some of the Northern Blue Mers that traveled past during they're migrations around the Northern Atlantic going to and from the Norwegian areas. They set up the cameras in several different places along the banks and in bays where they knew the merfolk would come to hunt. The biologists took turns monitoring the live feed for any activity. If there was, a team would be sent to observe. A lot of data was gathered on the Northern Blue Fantasian Mers, and many discoveries made.

As the migration season came to a close, the blues eventually began returning to the frigid deep of the North Atlantic. Activity soon began to die down as the numbers dwindled.
One day, about a week or so into the blues leaving, one biologist called his companions in to where the live feed was playing.
They were shocked by what they saw.

It was a mer, that much was sure. But it wasn't the standard Northern Blue. This one was different and didn't seem native.
Quickly the team set up to go and check it out, while one stayed behind and print screened the video feed image.

When the biologists finally arrived, they're equipment couldn't find it. When they asked the one who stayed behind what had happened, he simply stated the following. "I only looked away for a moment to pick up the phone. When I looked back, it was gone! It had hardly moved the entire time I was watching it, but in the blink of an eye, it vanished!"

The strange mer was never seen again, but the image of it was successfully saved. Eventually the camera were brought in, and the program continued on.

The scientists didn't realize what exactly they had captured until they posted the image on the programs home page, along with the other pictures of the Northern Blues.

People began informing them that the mer they had caught on tape looked a lot like an infamous cannibal mer known to pop up in random places at random times. After a bit of research, the team discovered that what they had photographed did indeed fit the description. How he would trail behind groups of mers and wait for the perfect moment to strike. (It would explain why he was seen only just as the blues were leaving.)

Un-nerved by the discovery, they decided to take the image off the homepage. Luckily, WE were able to find it and repost it here. This is the image captured not long before he vanished once again into the deep.

Holy kibootle! TEXT.

I've been working on this all day. Took a while, but I'm happy with it. I know it's rough around the edges, but I've never done lineless art with a darker background compared to that of the object.

I got the idea after seeing some pictures of deer caught in hunter's cams. I thought the image seemed creepy and I thought, "Why not combine that with one of my greatest fears? Murky water!" So obviously, the creature I was going to pick to be in this shot was Lyric!

I'm pleased with this, and I hope you guys are too. This was fun and challenging. ^^
It was fun making it look like it was actually shot by a camera too.
